How Does Therapy Work?

You have the option to book online a free 15 minute consultation phone call were we dive into why you’re thinking about seeking therapy services to see if we’re a good fit for each other. If you decide to move forward with therapy I will send you all the intake paperwork digitally for you to submit prior to our first session. This will allow us to make the most of our first session so that you can take your time gathering important information without having to stress about remembering it on the spot.

Consultation Call/Booking The Session

We will continue to dive deeper, check-in, and develop a personalized treatment plan with actionable steps based off of your goals for therapy. If you have goals related to improving your mental health, I will provide you with practical coping skills and strategies, with your needs in mind. This will help you have a clear indication of the work we do in therapy as well as the work that needs to be done outside of sessions.

Based on what you need, we will be meeting weekly or biweekly and the frequency of sessions can always be adjusted. Our work will be collaborative so if something is not working or if your priorities in therapy shift, we will review our plan and implement any necessary changes.

In this session, we will be meeting virtually and I will be utilizing what I learned from our consult call and/or your intake paperwork to further assess your needs. I will continue to learn more about you and we will get to know each other better. I will answer any questions you have as well as offer treatment recommendations.

Keep On Growing Consultations

Consultations offer counselors and counselors in training looking for support with Grad School or the NCE the opportunity to meet one-on-one with an LPC who has gone through a similar process. Consultations are perfect for anyone who has questions about the grad school process, the mental health counseling field, career, LPC-Associates & licensure, social media, or networking. You also have the option to get support for the NCE. Together we will create a personalized study plan with your lifestyle in mind, and you will also receive study tips and a study plan. If you are an LPC-Associate looking to start your private practice then you will be provided with a checklist and guide.

If you need a different day and time than what is available you can email me so we can schedule directly. If you’re a returning consultation client you can also book here directly.

  • 1 Hour Online Consultation $105

Common Questions

How often can I have therapy sessions?

Research shows that on average having sessions once every 2 weeks can help therapy be more successful but as a therapist who wants to create accessibility, I allow my clients to choose how often they want to have sessions. You can choose to have sessions once a week, once every 2 weeks, or once a month and you always have the option to increase or space out sessions. The most common option is starting with once every 2 weeks and gradually spacing out as needed.

Do you take insurance?

I do not take insurance, but I can provide you with a statement that you can submit to your insurance company to ask them directly if you can be partially reimbursed for services.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost one day before your medical service. Under the law, mental health providers need to give patients who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services such as therapeutic services. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your good faith estimate you can dispute the bill. For more questions or information about your right to Good Faith Estimate visit www.cms.gov/no surprises or call The No Surpises Help Desk at 1-800-985-3059.
